‘You Are LOVED’ Bench on The Woodlands Waterway transformed for Valentine’s Day
The beloved “You Are LOVED” art bench along The Woodlands Waterway has once again been beautifully transformed for Valentine’s Day, wrapped in lush florals, festive balloons, and playful photo-ready props in a heartfelt celebration of love and community.
Commissioned annually by the Gullo family in honor of their son, Austin Gullo, the vibrant memorial bench serves as a public expression of joy, remembrance, and connection. This year’s Valentine’s installation features romantic floral design by Piney Rose and whimsical balloon and prop styling by Prop House, creating a stunning backdrop for visitors strolling the scenic Waterway.
Originally designed by local architects Michelle Old, Stacy Moore, and Kevin Giuseppetti of Kirksey Architects, the “You Are LOVED” bench is part of The Woodlands Arts Council’s Art Bench Program, which includes more than 30 functional art pieces enhancing public spaces throughout the community.
Each year, the Gullo family commissions a special installation to honor Austin’s memory and to generously share a message of love with the community they cherish so deeply.
This year’s Valentine’s display will be fully installed and ready for photos beginning Friday, inviting couples, families, and friends to stop, capture memories, and celebrate the season surrounded by beauty and meaning. The collaboration between Piney Rose and Prop House elevates the space into an immersive experience — one that reflects both the spirit of the holiday and the heart behind the memorial.
For those visiting along The Woodlands Waterway this Valentine’s season, the message remains simple and powerful: You Are LOVED.
