18 PGA TOUR major winners are ready for the 2026 Insperity Invitational in The Woodlands
With less than three weeks remaining until the field will be confirmed for the 23rd playing of the Insperity Invitational presented by UnitedHealthcare, May 4-10, 2026, tournament officials announced this year’s tee sheet will include 18 players who have won major championship titles on the PGA TOUR.
The illustrious group brings 30 major wins with them into The Woodlands. They have combined to win six Green Jackets, six U.S. Open championships, 12 Claret Jugs and six Wanamaker Trophies.
The distinguished list includes:
Angel Cabrera David Duval Justin Leonard
Mark Calcavecchia Retief Goosen Corey Pavin
Stewart Cink Padraig Harrington Vijay Singh
Darren Clarke Zach Johnson David Toms
John Daly Bernhard Langer Mike Weir
Ernie Els Tom Lehman Y.E. Yang
“This incredible group have delivered countless memorable moments in our game throughout theirillustrious careers. Having them here to compete in The Woodlands adds many storylines to our international field,” said Bryan Naugle, Executive Director, The Invitationl, who added the tournament is also privileged to have 20 legends put on a show for Houston Golf Fans on Saturday in the Folds of Honor Greats of Golf, while playing behind what is arguably the strongest field on the PGA TOUR Champions.
“The Insperity is driven to bring together the legends of the game who are committed to inspiring all generations – honoring the moments that shaped golf’s past while sparking new dreams for the fans who will carry it forward.”
The Insperity’s defending champion, Stewart Cink, will be back in The Woodlands in hopes of becoming just the third person to successfully defend his title. Cink, the current leader on the Charles Schwab Cup standings, sunk an eight-foot putt on the first playoff hole in 2025 to seal his second PGA TOUR Champions title. Already a two-time winner in 2026, Cink has six victories on the senior swing.
Zach Johnson, one of the most exciting new additions to the PGA TOUR Champions and a two-time major champion will look to make an immediate impact in his first appearance deep in the heart of Texas. Since turning 50 earlier this year, the Masters and Open Championship winner has been nothing short of sensational in his first three starts on the circuit. Johnson captured a victory in his debut, then continued his strong form with a tie for third followed by a runner-up finish.
Earlier this spring, The Insperity also announced Colin Montgomerie will be amongst six World Golf Hall of Famers teeing it up at The Woodlands Country Club Tournament Course next month. The list of Hall of Famers also includes: Ernie Els, Retief Goosen, Padraig Harrington, Bernhard Langer and Vijay Singh.
The Insperity will transition to a fully ticketed event in 2026. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here. The move reflects The Insperity’s continued commitment to making a charitable impact in the local community, with proceeds from ticket sales benefitting Folds of Honor.
“As a tournament built on community and giving back, this transition allows us to turn a wonderful tradition into an even greater force for good,” added Naugle. “By introducing ticketing in 2026, we can provide additional support to Folds of Honor, and the families of those who have sacrificed so much for all of us.”
