1st Annual YMCA Duathlon held at the new Holcomb YMCA
The 1st Annual YMCA Duathlon was held on Saturday, August 13 at the new Holcomb YMCA located at 5201 Imperial Promenade in Spring, Texas. Youth ages 7 to 15 had the opportunity to participate in a morning of friendly competition and physical activity plus experience the fun and excitement of racing.
Presented by Texas Children’s Hospital The Woodlands, the Kids Duathlon benefits the YMCA Annual Campaign, which ensures everyone, regardless of age, income or background has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive at the Y.
The YMCA Duathlon featured a run/bike/run format where the run course was on the trails and the bike course on the road. The event featured nine age divisions (7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 years) and boys and girls competed separately in their age groups. The top three finishers, male and female, in each age group received a special award and all participants received a goodie bag, t-shirt, and finisher medal.
The Duathlon was Race #3 of the new YMCA Summer Race Series for Kids and Teens.
