VIDEO: 9th Annual YMCA Dancing with The Woodlands Stars
On April 26, 2024, eight amazing community volunteers danced the night away to benefit The Woodlands Family YMCA at the 9th Annual Dancing with The Woodlands Stars event. The cast members along with their professional dancing partners from Fred Astaire Dance Studio lit up the dance floor at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott.
The 9th Annual YMCA Dancing with The Woodlands Stars, presented by “Chesmar Homes,” is a spin-off of the popular TV show, “Dancing with the Stars,” and is a unique charity event where the community is invited to join in on the family-friendly fun and support the YMCA Dance Cause Squad.

In addition to live dance entertainment, the evening included a buffet dinner, cash bar, silent auction with unique autographed sports memorabilia, photo booth, dancing and much more.
Each year, volunteers take to the dance floor to compete for votes and raise funds for The Woodlands Family YMCA. Every dollar raised from the purchase of tables, seats, auction items and votes go directly to the YMCA Annual BETTER US Campaign, which provides community-strengthening Y programs like water safety education, after school enrichment, teen leadership, youth sports, and outreach & supportive services available to everyone regardless of age, income or background. The YMCA is committed to Empowering Youth, Building Healthier Families and Creating Social Equity for ALL.
Fred Astaire Dance Studio in The Woodlands has partnered with the Y to provide the dance partners, lessons and choreography for the community stars. Meet the 2024 Cast Members here
Special group dances were also performed by the YMCA Bright Life Program and the YMCA Sassy Seniors.
The highlight of the evening occurred at the end of performance of Roxanne Davis, a recent YMCA Retiree (1993-2023) and 2024 The Woodlands Hometown Hero, where all of the cast members and Davis family members joined together to perform the grand finale, a dance to the beloved Y.M.C.A. song.
