Commissioner Noack names K9 in honor of U.S. Military Academy

In recognition of the U.S. military and to promote the strong relationship between our community and the Armed Forces, Montgomery County Commissioners Court recently approved naming the Fire Marshal’s Office new K9 bomb-detecting dog “CIRCUS.”

CIRCUS is the mascot of the United States Military Academy Charlie Company, representing its strong tradition of excellence, courage, loyalty and teamwork.

Precinct 3 Commissioner James Noack, who funded the new K9 for the Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office, proposed the name “CIRCUS.” The Commisioner’s younger son, Macoy Noack, is currently a cadet at West Point Academy in the Second Regiment, C Company.

Here is the resolution approved in Commissioners Court Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2024:

On this the 22nd day of October, 2024, at a Regular Session Meeting of the Commissioners’ Court of Montgomery County, Texas, (“Court”) there came on for consideration and approval a motion to establish a name for the Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office new K9.

​WHEREAS, the Court desires to establish a name for the new addition of the Fire Marshal K9; and 

WHEREAS, the Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office is dedicated to ensuring public safety and security through proactive measures and community engagement; and

WHEREAS, the integration of K9 units has proven to be invaluable in bomb detection, fire prevention, investigation, safety operations and emergency response; and

WHEREAS, the United States Military Academy’s Charlie Company has a rich tradition, represented by its esteemed mascot, which embodies excellence, courage, loyalty, and teamwork; and

WHEREAS, Montgomery County Precinct Three Commissioner James Noack seeks to honor this tradition and foster a strong connection with our military and community; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Commissioner James Noack and the Montgomery County, Texas Fire Marshal’s Office officially names its new bomb-detecting K9 “CIRCUS” in honor of the United States Military Academy Charlie Company mascot; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that K9 “CIRCUS” will serve as a symbol of bravery, loyalty and service symbolizing our commitment to public safety and the enduring spirit of service and dedication shared by both the military and our community.
