Women Empowering Women Luncheon & Philanthropy Market benefits Interfaith Community Clinic

By  |

The 11th Annual Women Empowering Women event, benefiting Interfaith Community Clinic, took place on Thursday, April 3, at the stunning event venue, The Peach Orchard. The luncheon and Philanthropy Shopping Market featured nearly 30 vendors from all over Texas and raised nearly $185,000 for the beloved Clinic. The event chairs for the 2025 event were Dr. Emily Liska and Dr. Adrienne Blessing.
Guests enjoyed a fabulous lunch provided by Amerigo’s Grille, followed by an impactful program where they learned more about the Clinic and listened to patient stories. The program concluded by honoring an extraordinary woman for her tireless dedication to Interfaith Community Clinic. The Volunteer Who Cares was awarded to Mrs. Belinda Lewis, affectionately known as Bea, for her compassion and commitment to volunteering at the Clinic. Bea has been a devoted volunteer of the Clinic since 2010, as a volunteer receptionist. She greets our patients with a warm and welcoming smile, and her devotion to helping others is an inspiration to us all.

The Woman Who Cares was awarded to Dr. Kerrie Guerrero, Chief Nursing Officer at Houston Methodist The Woodlands, for her support and dedication to Interfaith Community Clinic. “Kerrie continues to be instrumental to the success of the clinic,” shared Missy Herndon, President and CEO of Interfaith Community Clinic. “She has served as the Clinic Board Chair the last two years and is the first to volunteer, often volunteering alongside our team at flu clinics and Healthy Kids Festivals.”

The Women Empowering Women Luncheon had over 350 in attendance and raised nearly $185,000 to support the vital dental, medical and behavioral health services the ICC provides the uninsured residents of Montgomery County. The 11th annual event featured a Philanthropy Market where guests shopped for a cause and enjoyed a specialty cocktail hour. The market featured a curated shopping experience highlighting women-owned businesses from all over the state of Texas. The vendors graciously donated 15% of their proceeds back to the Community Clinic.

Proceeds benefit Interfaith Community Clinic, the only charitable clinic serving all of Montgomery County. The Community Clinic opened its doors in 1996 to meet the medical needs of the uninsured population. As the needs of the community have grown, so have the services offered at the clinic. Today, the clinic continues to provide quality basic medical and dental care, counseling and patient services to individuals in need. A volunteer staff of licensed physicians, nurses, medical providers, dentists, dental assistants, dental hygienists, as well as translators and support personnel work together to provide patient care. Programs are provided free of charge and are funded by the generous financial support of grants, faith-based organizations, businesses, civic groups, and individuals.
