Winter Storm Warning and Shelters Open Today in Montgomery County

On Friday, January 23 at 2:32 p.m., the Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management shared the following update for a Winter Storm Warning and Shelters opening today in Montgomery County.

Montgomery County is under a winter storm warning until January 25 at 6:00 p.m. This warning was issued by the National Weather Service because we expect prolonged durations of sub-freezing weather along with freezing rain.

Please finalize winterization preparations on your home today!

Keep in mind when you prepare protect pipes, people, plants and pets. Temperatures will rapidly fall tomorrow with the onset of thunderstorms in the morning transitioning to freezing rain in the afternoon.

Serious disruptions to transportation will occur with the icy conditions and pro-longed sub freezing temperatures. Please avoid getting on the roadways after tomorrow afternoon until safe to do so.

Montgomery County will have several shelters open. The list of those opening today and Saturday are below:

Opening Today:

  • Salvation Army –Conroe, 304 Ave. E, Conroe, TX 7301 🕓 Opens Friday at 4:00 PM (ID required for entry)
  • Under Over Fellowship – Conroe, 600 S. Frazier, Conroe, TX 77301 🕕 Opens Friday at 6:00 PM (Pets welcome)

Opening Saturday:

  • St. Simon and Jude – The Woodlands, 26777 Glen Loch Dr., The Woodlands, TX 77381 🕐 Opens Saturday at 1:00 PM
  • West Montgomery County Community Development Center – Magnolia, 31555 Friendship Dr., Magnolia TX 77355 🕛 Opens Saturday at 12:00 PM (Pets welcome)
  • H-Town Dream Center – Splendora, 26373 East Holly Ln., Splendora, TX 77372 🕛 Opens Saturday at 12:00 PM (Pets welcome)
  • North Montgomery County Community Center – Willis, 600 Gerald St., Willis TX 77378 🕛 Opens Saturday at 12:00 PM (Pets welcome)
