Blitz Build 2026 kicks off home construction in Habitat for Humanity’s new Marble Creek community
Today Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County, TX held the Blitz Build 2026 Celebration and Home Dedication event where two homes were dedicated to the very first homeowners in Marble Creek, Habitat for Humanity’s new 81-acre community in Magnolia.

Following the completion of Cedar Creek in Conroe after 18 years, Habitat is beginning work on Marble Creek, a future community of more than 200 families. This past week, July 13-17, LGI Homes built three homes in just five days (July 13-17), while Matt Powers Custom Homes & Renovations and Laura Powers Property Group completed a fourth home between June 24 and July 17. The Blitz Build concluded with a celebration and home dedications this morning for the first two Marble Creek homeowners, Elizabeth and Nettaya.
Elizabeth’s Story: Elizabeth is a single mother and a teacher in the Magnolia ISD ABLE Program, where she supports students with special needs. She and her son have been sharing a one-bedroom apartment with little space to spare. Through Habitat’s homeownership program, she will finally give her family the space they need and the stability to build a brighter future.
Nettaya’s Story: Nettaya is a single mother of two sons, focused on rebuilding stability for her family. After leaving an unsafe situation, she returned to the workforce and worked her way into leadership roles while raising her children. Through Habitat’s homeownership program, she has built skills, completed financial education, and worked toward homeownership through sweat equity. Her future home in Marble Creek will provide safety, peace, and a stable place for her children to grow.
