The Woodlands Township accepting entries for 38th Annual Wildflower Festival Art Contest
Calling all artists and creative minds! The Woodlands Township will be accepting entries for the 38th Annual Wildflower Festival Art Contest from August 17 through September 18, 2026. The Grand Prize-winning entry from the four children’s categories will be featured on the official recycled tote bag distributed at the festival, while the winning adult entry will be showcased as the festival’s official poster!
The Woodlands Lions Club, in partnership with The Woodlands Township, is hosting The Woodlands Wildflower Festival on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Rob Fleming Park, 6055 Creekside Forest Drive, The Woodlands, 77389. This free, family event features thousands of wildflower seed packets in many different varieties that are distributed free to the community by generous seed sponsors. In addition to the seed packet distribution, the event will include other family friendly activities such as wildflower crafts, inflatables, face painting, live performances, food trucks and more!
How to Enter the Art Contest
Contest entries should portray a nature scene that incorporates wildflowers. Interested parties should create their favorite scene on heavy, unlined white paper, canvas or poster board, no larger than 11” x 17”. Preferred drawing materials are paint, watercolors, oils, pen and ink, pastels, crayons, colored pencils or markers. No writing should be included on the front of the artwork. Photographs are not accepted. Only one entry per participant please.
Entries should be labeled on the back with the name, address, phone number and age (age for children’s entries only). Entries may be turned in at The Woodlands Township Office at 2801 Technology Forest Blvd. in The Woodlands, TX, starting August 17, 2026. The Woodlands Township is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The deadline for entries is Friday, September 18, at 5:30 pm. The winners will be notified before the festival.

Entries will be judged and prizes awarded in the following categories: up to four years, five to eight years, nine to 13 years, 14-18 years and adults (age 19 and over). First-place prizes of $100 will be awarded in all four children’s categories and the Children’s Grand Prize-winning entry will be used on the official recycled bag. The adult first-place winner will receive $500, and the winning adult entry will become the official poster of the festival.
Following the contest, all artwork must be picked up at The Woodlands Township by November 13, 2026, or it will be donated to a local charity. By entering the contest, each contestant and/or parent/guardian agrees the submission is the artist’s original work and consents to use of the artist’s first and last name, artwork and age group during the event and related promotions without further permission or approval.
