UPDATE: Alden Bridge Pool to re-open, closed temporarily due to COVID-19 exposure

UPDATE: June 18, 2020 – The Woodlands Township will re-open Alden Bridge Pool to the public on Thursday, June 18, 2020, from noon to 6 p.m. The pool was temporarily closed due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, June 17, 2020.

“All safety and sanitization procedures have been completed, notifications made, and the pool is ready to re-open,” said Dr. Chris Nunes, Director of Parks and Recreation.

The Woodlands Township is working diligently to ensure the safety of all residents and visitors to Township pools, parks and amenities. Township staff members undergo daily temperature screenings upon reporting to work along with being asked a variety of questions regarding possible coronavirus exposure. The employee who tested positive was screened on June 16, 2020, and did not present with an elevated temperature.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to engage in self-checking before visiting any public area. Self-checking includes monitoring for symptoms such as fever, sore throat, coughing, shortness of breath, congestion and other associated symptoms. While in public, wear a face covering or mask, wash your hands frequently and stay six feet apart from others. If you suspect COVID-19 exposure, please contact your healthcare professional or your county health department to request a test, and limit your contact with others.

The Woodlands Township has closed Alden Bridge Pool temporarily due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19. The pool will be closed today, Wednesday, June 17, 2020, for cleaning and disinfecting and to provide proper notification to all who may have been in contact with the employee.

The pool re-opening will be announced later, pending the completion of safety and sanitization procedures.

The employee worked shifts from 7:30 to 11 a.m. and 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2020. Township staff members undergo daily temperature screenings upon reporting to work along with being asked a variety of questions regarding possible coronavirus exposure. The employee who tested positive was screened on June 16, 2020, and did not present with an elevated temperature.
