Alumni at The Woodlands Christian Academy return to serve the next generation

By  |

At The Woodlands Christian Academy (TWCA), the Pursuit of Service is more than a phrase — it is a
way of life. Nowhere is that more evident than in the lives of alumni who have chosen to return to their
alma mater, pouring back into the community that once poured into them.

This year, six TWCA graduates walk the halls not as students, but as teachers and coaches, continuing
a legacy of service and leadership.

Lower School teacher, Rachel Roher (’14), née Earle, knows what it means to experience something
full circle. As a senior, she wrote her name and a Bible verse on the beams of the Joshua Academic
Building, never imagining she would one day teach inside those very walls. Today, her classroom
blends joy, humor, and faith with academics

“My prayers for them feel more intentional, and I want my lessons to be not just lessons, but
opportunities for them to grow in wisdom and faith,” Roher shared. “I don’t just want to teach content
— I want to teach with heart and hopefully with enough joy and humor that they leave my class
smiling, not just smarter.”

Middle School teacher, Olivia Harder (’18), née Gregory, initially returned to TWCA through coaching
middle school cross country. It was there she realized how her own coach’s influence had shaped her
walk with Christ — a legacy she now seeks to pass on.

“My love for Christ flourished in cross country, and that is something I could never thank Coach Earle
enough for,” Harder said. “Now I want to go forth and do that for my students. I want to further the
kingdom by what I do in the classroom.”

Whether on the field or in the classroom, Harder focuses on building both skills and character, pointing
students to Christ through every lesson.

Assistant Upper School girls basketball coach and Lower School team teacher, Mackenzie
Morris (’22), shares a similar passion for investing in others and is thrilled to be back on
campus this year.

“I am so happy to be back on campus! The exciting part is being able to watch young
people grow spiritually and interact with their peers as a result of the leadership at TWCA,”
Morris said.

For wide receiver coach Caleb Chappelle (’20), the decision to return was inspired by the
mentors who shaped him. He credits his TWCA coaches with guiding his spiritual walk and
influencing his personal growth.

“TWCA gave me great experiences through education, events, and athletics,” Chappelle
said. “My coaches have helped me develop into the man God wants me to become, and
those coaches serve as mentors for me to this day. I returned because I hope to help do the
same for this younger generation.”

Coaching, for him, is about more than the game — it’s about building character, fostering
faith, and helping students form the kind of deep friendships that marked his own years at
TWCA.

These alumni exemplify TWCA’s Pursuit of Service — demonstrating leadership, gratitude,
and a commitment to giving back. Their stories highlight how service can inspire growth,
strengthen character, and make a lasting difference.

The Woodlands Christian Academy encourages the broader community to join in supporting
local students by preparing them to lead and serve with purpose in the world beyond their
campus.
