Assistant Chief Investigator John Stephenson retires after 47 years of service

On Thursday, May 21, 2026, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office hosted a retirement celebration for Assistant Chief Investigator John Stephenson.

After 47 years of service, John has been an incredible asset to Montgomery County and a familiar face throughout the community, including The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. The celebration was held at The Ark Church in Conroe and honored an extraordinary career built on service, honor and integrity. Multiple law enforcement jurisdictions, family, and friends were also in attendance at the celebration.
