Canopy Cancer Survivorship Center hosts 2nd Annual Breast Cancer Panel

On Wednesday, October 25, 2023, Canopy Cancer Survivorship Center hosted their 2nd Annual Let’s Talk Breast Cancer Panel Discussion and Luncheon. Canopy is a cancer survivorship on the campus of Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center located at 1120 Medical Plaza Dr, Medical Building 1, Suite 250.

Attendees at the event enjoyed educational presentations and a panel discussion, learned about the importance of mammograms and about cardiovascular risk after cancer, and had the opportunity to ask questions to the guest speakers including:

  • Keynote Speaker, Dr. Diana M. Hook, M.D., Texas Oncology Breast Surgeon
  • Carolyn Allsen, RN, BSN, OCN, ONN-CG, Oncology Nurse Navigator
  • Katharine Mahan, LCSW, OSW-C, Oncology Social Worker
  • Michelle Morrow, Licensed Esthetician
  • Misti Jeter, Black Pearl Technology, with Lisa Fenley, American Heart Association

Marcella Herrera, Program Manager of Canopy, also shared how Canopy offers a wide variety of programs and services addressing the emotional, physical and social needs of those touched by cancer – at no cost. Canopy is open to men and women, no matter where you were treated, and for any kind of cancer.

The goal of Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center is to integrate a cancer survivorship center into the continuum of cancer care.
