Children’s Safe Harbor Pinwheel Art Installation in The Woodlands

Representing the number of every child served by Children’s Safe Harbor in 2022 for sexual assault, physical abuse, neglect, human trafficking and trauma, 2,303 pinwheels were installed on the morning of Tuesday, April 25, 2023 on the front grounds of the Montgomery County Ed Chance Courthouse Annex – The Woodlands and remained on display all day for public awareness.

This is an annual event in recognition of April being national Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month. Community leaders, members of the county’s child abuse multi-disciplinary team, the Conroe Police Department, Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office, Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, The Township Board of Directors members, Commissioner James Noack, BACA, Board Members, and CPS were in attendance and participated in assisting with the installation this morning starting at 7:30 a.m.

Children’s Safe Harbor is one of children’s advocacy centers in Texas that coordinate with law enforcement and CPS to support the investigation and healing of children who have been sexually assaulted, severely physically assaulted, sexually trafficked or exploited or who have witnessed violent crimes such as rape, murder and domestic violence.
