CISD Robotics Team Texas Torque wins FEDEX Challenge

By  |
The Conroe ISD high school robotics team, Texas Torque, was awarded a $5,000 grant for winning the FedEx Innovation Challenge at the FIRST Robotics World Championships in Houston.
The FedEx Innovation Challenge is an interactive, social media-based competition that lets students show off their creativity and math and science skills, open to the 401 FRC and 128 FTC robotics teams competing at the championship event. The challenge involved a scavenger hunt to find a robot at a FedEx location, the creation of a video showing how various scientists’ contributions have made the world a better place, and the solution to trivia and complex STEM-related challenges. CISD teacher and Texas Torque mentor, Mrs. Karen Humes, inspired the team to rise to the challenge.
