Conroe ISD Trustees Name Two Principals at May Board Meeting

CONROE, TX – At their meeting on Tuesday, May 21, the Conroe ISD Board of Trustees named the principals of Lamar Elementary and Oak Ridge High School 9th Grade Campus.

Mrs. Kristen Belcher was named principal of Lamar Elementary. She is filling the position held by Mrs. Mary Jane Kirbo who will be retiring at the end of the school year after serving 33 years in education, 24 of which were in Conroe ISD. In addressing the Board, Belcher thanked them and stated, “It is such an honor and I am extremely blessed. I am fully committed to the students, staff, and community in which I serve. I want to build upon and honor the foundation Mrs. Mary Jane Kirbo has established. She has made an impact on this community for many years and has left a lasting impression. I also want to continue to honor the traditions that are an integral part of Lamar Elementary.”

Belcher began her career in Conroe ISD in 2008. Prior to be named principal of Lamar Elementary, she has served as a classroom teacher, summer school principal, and assistant principal.

Ms. Melanie Bujnoch, an assistant principal at Klein High School in Klein ISD, was named principal of Oak Ridge High School 9th Grade Campus. Current principal Dr. AJ LiVecchi was recently named principal of Oak Ridge High School in light of the retirement of Principal Tommy Johnson.

In her remarks to the Board, Bujnoch shared, “Thank you for your trust in me to serve as the next principal at Oak Ridge High School’s 9th grade campus. I am truly grateful for this incredibly humbling honor. I am blessed to have this opportunity to work under Dr. LiVecchi and carry on the tradition of excellence that he has established. I know that through his leadership and mentorship, I will be able to do great things on my campus and in Conroe ISD.”
