Disaster Declaration from Tomball Mayor Fagan

By  |

TOMBALL, TX (August 27, 2017 ) – Tomball Mayor Gretchen Fagan released the following message on Sunday, August 27:

Good Morning – this is Tomball Mayor Gretchen Fagan.

We’ve experienced extremely heavy rains for a sustained period of time, and this has resulted in flooding throughout the City.

Many of our roads are impassible, so please don’t drive!  The safest place for you to be right now is at home!

Considering the damage and injuries we have already sustained, coupled with the possibility for loss of life – I have declared a local state of disaster, pursuant to Section 418.108(a) of the Texas Government Code.

Doing this allows us to activate appropriate recovery and rehabilitation aspects of our Emergency Management Plans and initiates all State and Federal Mutual Aid.

Simply stated, this is necessary for me to ensure that I am giving our first responders and support staff the tools they need to best serve you!

I assure you we are doing everything possible to keep all essential functions within our City in good working order, and at this time all systems are fully functional.

Our Emergency Operations Center remains activated, and we are providing local updates at the City’s web site: www.tomballtx.gov, and also on our “Tomball Info” Facebook Page.

For non-emergency assistance, please call 281-351-5451, and if you have an emergency, dial 911.

On behalf of our City Council, I want to thank you for your patience and understanding, as we continue to weather this storm together!
