Egg-citing Visit from the Easter Bunny during EggTivities at The Woodlands Children’s Museum
Our egg-stremely popular EggTivities event at The Woodlands Children’s Museum will take place on Friday, March 29th and Saturday, March 30th, 2024, from 10:00am-2:00pm. In addition to enjoying the museum’s exhibits, guests can visit with the Easter Bunny, dye eggs, create an eggs-traordinary bunny mask, and embellish egg carton baskets and bunny boxes to carry their egg-cellently decorated one-of-a-kind eggs.
The tradition of dying eggs dates back to ancient times and is said to signify the celebration of Easter, the coming of Spring, and a rebirth in nature. During EggTivities, the museum incorporates this cultural tradition along with curated art projects that are designed to encourage young guests to use their imaginations and artistic expression.
“When children witness the white egg transform into their chosen vibrant color, it demonstrates the cause-and-effect relationship of their decision. They see that their action directly led to the outcome,” stated Angela Colton, the museum’s Executive Director. “Every dyed egg is unique, just like their decision, and fosters a sense of ownership and pride in the results.”
In addition to creating art projects and visiting with the Easter Bunny, guests are invited to two Special Storytimes both days. At 11:00am, delight in “The Golden Egg Book” by Margaret Wise Brown. In this classic tale, a little bunny discovers an egg with something moving inside of it and wonders what it could be? At 1:00pm, enjoy “Bear Finds Eggs” by Karma Wilson. In this newly released book in the beloved “Bear” series, Bear and his friends hunt for Mama Meadowlark’s missing eggs, painting all the eggs they find with bright colors so they do not get lost again.
EggTivities is included in the cost of admission which is $9 for adults and children 1 year and older. Guests may take their own photos while visiting the Easter Bunny from 10:00am – 3:00pm. Visitors are encouraged to pre-purchase tickets for this popular event at www.woodlandschildrensmuseum.org
