On October 20, 2023, at approximately 11:00 pm, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Deputies from the District 6 Office, received a call reporting several suspicious persons pulling on car door handles in the area of Research Forest Drive in The Woodlands, Texas. While responding, Deputies were informed there was a suspicious vehicle in a nearby residential gated community. Deputies quickly converged to the area and found a vehicle that matched the description. Deputies made contact with the suspect at this time and located multiple tools in the vehicle commonly used for burglarizing vehicles. Three additional suspects were later located at a Timewise gas station on Research Forest Dr.

Four suspects, all from Humble, Texas, were identified as Anthony Hunter (18), Eddrick Runnels (20), Xavier Mitchell (19), and a Juvenile were placed in custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail where they are being charged with burglary of a vehicle, a class A misdemeanor. All three adult suspects are currently out on bond through Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Rand Henderson: I am so proud of The Woodlands Deputies for their work on this case. This incident highlights the importance of collaboration between the community and our Deputies working together. I want to reiterate, we will not tolerate this type of behavior in Montgomery County.
