Houston Methodist The Woodlands hosts Cancer Survivors Day Celebration

By  |

On June 12, Houston Methodist Neal Cancer Center at The Woodlands welcomed local cancer survivors and caregivers at their Cancer Survivors Day celebration. Guests enjoyed refreshments, visited the resource fair, heard from speakers, and received a swag bag with healthy lifestyle resources.

June is National Cancer Survivors Month and celebrates cancer survivors, raises awareness and the issues survivors face, and advocates for cancer survivorship research. From the very initial cancer diagnosis, each individual is a cancer survivor. If someone is living with cancer, being treated for cancer, or had cancer and now in remission or cancer-free, they are a cancer survivor, or “thriver” as some shall say.

“It was inspiring to be a part of our Cancer Survivors Celebration,” shared David P. Bernard, Senior Vice President, Houston Methodist, and Chief Executive Officer, Houston Methodist The Woodlands. “We were honored to celebrate the strength and resilience of survivors and inspire patients who were recently diagnosed. We saw so many supportive family members, caregivers and health care providers commemorate our community of survivors as well. Houston Methodist is proud to be a part of every patient’s health care journey and to host this celebration of connection and hope.”
