Howard Hughes Awards Scholarships to 12 Local Graduates

THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Howard Hughes Corporation is pleased to award scholarships to 12 graduating The Woodlands students from College Park, Magnolia, Tomball, The John Cooper School, and The Woodlands High Schools as well as one recipient from Willis High School as they pursue a college education.

“We are committed to the future of our students and are excited to award these scholarships through our Howard Hughes Cares program, our corporate initiative designed to nurture the growth and vitality of our communities,” said Heath Melton, Senior Vice President, Master Planned Communities, Residential for The Howard Hughes Corporation. “Through Howard Hughes Cares we are proud to support the many nonprofit organizations dedicated to education, arts, health, environment, economic development and other worthwhile causes that help make The Woodlands such a special place to live, work and discover.”

  • Dominic Beck – The Woodlands College Park, attending University of Texas
  • Zach Bouthillette – The Woodlands High School, attending University of Texas
  • Corinne Eckert – Willis High School, attending Texas A&M University
  • Ameesha Kulkarni – The Woodlands High School, attending University of Texas
  • Logan Lindstrom – Tomball High School, attending Texas A&M University
  • Gabby Mussalli – The John Cooper School, attending Villanova University
  • Anna Neidigk – Tomball High School, attending Blinn College
  • Tyler Oliver – Magnolia High School, attending Lone Star College
  • George Salcido – Tomball High School, attending Texas A&M University Corpus Christi
  • Isaac Shelton – Tomball High School, attending Blinn College
  • Enrique Valdez – Magnolia High School, attending Lone Star College
  • Jessica Young – The John Cooper School, attending Trinity University

Students were selected by their high school, based on academics and extracurricular activities. Many of the students residing in The Woodlands attend The Woodlands College Park High School and The Woodlands High School. Students living in The Woodlands’ Village of Creekside Park attend Tomball High School while residents in May Valley in the Village of Sterling Ridge attend Magnolia High School. Willis High School is the academic institution where students living in The Woodlands Hills attend. The John Cooper School is a co-educational, college preparatory school, which was established in The Woodlands over 30 years ago.
