Innovations and Community Partners at the Fall Home and Outdoor Living Show

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX – The Annual Fall Montgomery County Home and Outdoor Living Show features appearances by top names in home improvement with over 200 exhibitors sharing products and services.

DIY workshops are back! Have fun making a floral arrangement with Joalys, owner of Houston Events & Florals, creating an arrangement to take home. AR Workshop Cypress will work with attendees to build a unique wood home décor project in a fun atmosphere. All attendees can join the workshops at no extra cost but get there early! Workshops are limited to 24 participants in each session.

Ashley Barber, Houston’s First Certified KonMari Professional Organizer with Simply Maven, will present ways to reclaim your space, time, and peace of mind by decluttering and organizing your home. The KonMari Method is created by Marie Kondo, bestselling author and star of Netflix’s hit show, Tidying Up with Marie Kondo, and founder of KonMari Media, Inc. Simply Maven is an organizational coaching company with a mission to teach others the best ways to let go of their stuff, organize their spaces, and create more time and ease in their lives. Owned by KonMari Specialists, Ashley Barber and Jane McCullough, they show busy moms to hard-working professionals how to create an environment where they can thrive.

Exclusively at the show you can hear from Inspirational Speaker and Adventurist, Angela Maxwell tell her real-life story of traveling 20,000 miles in 6.5 years covering four continents and 13 countries WALKING. Why did she do this? “I just knew that I would regret it if I didn’t at least try. The thought of carrying that regret felt scarier than the unknowns of the walk,” Maxwell said.

Tony Wood, President of Texwood Shows was intrigued by her guts, determination, and adventure when he read her story in an article. He immediately set his own determination to get her at the show. Maxwell will share her story of experiencing people as a participant and serving the community she traveled through as well as giving back to local organizations to empower the lives of women each day of the event. Her mission was one of positive change throughout every step along the journey.

The Fall Home Outdoor and Living Show will offer an opportunity to meet our community partners to learn more about the surrounding activities and organizations that contribute to the local lifestyle. Sample wine from Blue Epiphany or craft beer from Southern Star Brewing, visit with Operation Pets Alive volunteers to learn about their no kill rescue and adoption services, find out about family fun activities with the City of Conroe Parks and Recreation, and hear the students in The Jazz Connection play on Sunday afternoon as you enter the lobby.

Community Assistance Center (CAC), Inspiration Ranch, and Habitat for Humanity – Montgomery County are the non-profit organizations spotlighted during the Montgomery County Home and Outdoor Show. CAC is a source of hope for Montgomery County residents experiencing financial crisis in basic needs of housing, utilities, food, and clothing with a goal of delivering lifelong solutions. Inspiration Ranch provides equine therapy programs to special need individuals with expertise certified through the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International. Habitat for Humanity is committed to providing safe and affordable housing and repairs for homeowners to qualified applicants.

The Habitat for Humanity ReStore Reveal is an interactive booth showcasing ways to DIY with ReStore purchased items in a real environment. Items will be available for purchase as a silent auction to assist with helping Habitat for Humanity build and repair homes throughout Montgomery County.

Show hours are 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 28, and 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 29 at the Lone Star Convention Center, 9055 Airport Road in Conroe.
