Interfaith Collects Toys and Non-Perishable Food for the Holiday

By  |

THE WOODLANDS, TX — The holiday season is well underway at Interfaith of The Woodlands. Each year, nearly 5,000 individuals and families are in need of support to make their holiday season memorable. Interfaith Family Services provides holiday gifts to families in need through the Adopt-A-Family, Adopt-A-Senior and Holiday Toy Drive programs.

Holiday preparation begins in October when families are interviewed then available for adoption in November and December. In addition to the Adopt-A-Family program, thousands of toys are also collected and distributed to nearly 3,000 children in need at the local fire station. In order to meet these needs of these families and individuals, Interfaith relies heavily on community support. Many generous member congregations, corporations, civic organizations and individuals have stepped up to assist, including Congressman Kevin Brady and his team.

“The needs are greater than ever. We were at Interfaith sorting food and clothing during Harvey relief efforts and Missy mentioned that often when you are helping families with the holidays it is teenagers that people don’t think about. Christmas and the holidays are so important to them as well, so we focused on adopting 28 families with teenagers,” said Congressman Kevin Brady.

Adopted families will pick up their gifts the first week of December but the Holiday Toy Drive runs through December 18th. Every family also receives food from the Interfaith Food Pantry. If you would like to help support our neighbors in need, you can donate a new, unwrapped toy for children newborn to high school or non-perishable food to Interfaith of The Woodlands Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm until Monday, December 18th.

Interfaith of The Woodlands is a non-profit social service agency providing numerous programs and services to meet the needs of The Woodlands and the surrounding area. For more information on Interfaith’s programs and services, or to become a volunteer, please visit or call 281-367-1230.
