Lakes Edge Boat House to Re-Open on July 3, 2020

THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Woodlands Township is proud to announce the re-opening of Lakes Edge Boat House beginning Friday, July 3, 2020. The smaller of two boat rental locations owned and operated by The Woodlands Township, the Lakes Edge Boat House has been closed since the initial shutdown of Township facilities in March due to COVID-19.

Lakes Edge Boat House (opened in 2016) is conveniently located at 1970 Hughes Landing Blvd., The Woodlands, TX, 77380, on the Hughes Landing boardwalk between One Lakes Edge and Two Lakes Edge apartment complexes. Just south of Restaurant Row on the shore of Lake Woodlands, Lakes Edge Boat House is open to the general public and perfectly suited for those seeking a mealtime or after-work escape and smaller parties. Public parking is available in nearby lots and garages.

Rental options at Lakes Edge Boat House will continue to include: singles kayaks ($15/hour), tandem kayaks ($20/hour), and stand-up paddleboards ($20/hour) at this time. Prices listed here are for the first hour; each additional hour is only $5 per boat. Lifejackets and paddles are included in every rental. Lakes Edge Boat House is currently open from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the last boat going out at 7:00 p.m., and is closed on Tuesdays.

Please respect social distancing signage and directions during this unique time. Staff are currently sanitizing all high-touch areas frequently and all lifejackets, paddles, and boats at the conclusion of each use. Hand sanitizer will also be available for staff and customers as needed; the nearest sinks for hand washing are about 100 yards away. In accordance with our social distancing policy, staff will not be able to help customers in and out of boats.

A boat house liability waiver must be on file for all visitors in order to depart in a rented boat.
