ABOUT THE FOUNDER & THE CLEVERLEY STONE FOUNDATION

Houston Restaurant Weeks was founded in 2003 by the late Cleverley Stone, a 26-year restaurant correspondent and philanthropist who pioneered the coverage of Houston’s restaurants and chefs across print, radio, and television media. She was known to Houstonians as host of “The Cleverley Show” on CBS Sports Radio 650/KIKK-AM and the food contributor to Fox 26/KRIV Morning News. Her vision to support local restaurants through their slowest dining month of the year was built around the rallying call for Houstonians to Dine Out & Do Good™, a beloved and highly anticipated time of the year for diners that has helped raise more than $23 million for the Houston Food Bank, providing more than 70 million meals to food-insecure Houstonians. The Cleverley Stone Foundation continues #cleverleyslegacy of engineering what is now the busiest restaurant month in Houston, along with sister event Eat Drink HTX held each February. Her daughter, Katie Stone, serves as president of the Foundation, carrying on this beloved Houston-born legacy.
