Memorial Hermann In the Pink of Health encourages Women to schedule a Mammogram
On August 8, 2024, Memorial Hermann In the Pink of Health and the Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Breast Center presented the “Mammograms and Merlot” event to encourage all women to schedule a mammogram. The event created a relaxing spa-like environment with beverages, light snacks, and skin treatments and spa services provided by The Skin Retreat, while twenty women had the opportunity to receive a mammogram.

Memorial Hermann In the Pink of Health shared that in 2024 there will be 2,001,140 new cancer cases, 310,720 of those being diagnosis of breast cancer – 307,930 women and 2,790 men – with an estimated 42,780 breast cancer deaths (Source: American Cancer Society 2024). Early detection is the best defense against breast cancer, which is why Memorial Hermann In the Pink of Health is encouraging all to schedule a annual screening mammogram.

Memorial Hermann In the Pink of Health is a group of inspired women who change lives by raising funds to reduce the incidence of breast and ovarian cancer and assist survivors in their journeys. To date, they have distributed over $8.6 million to invest in technology, prevention, community outreach and education, all to reduce the incidence of breast and ovarian cancer.
The year 2000 as not only the beginning of a new century but it was also the inaugural year of the In the Pink of Health luncheon. The first luncheon had approximately 70 people in attendance and by 2023 that number grew to over 900, making it one of the largest attended charitable events in The Woodlands. Thanks to the generosity of last year’s supporters, they distributed $500,000 to charity partners: The Rose, Ovarcome, Interfaith Community Clinic, The Breast Care Center at Memorial Hermann the Woodlands, Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Nurse Navigator, and Canopy Cancer Survivorship Center.
Memorial Hermann In the Pink of Health is once again chairing this amazing luncheon and hopes to inspire people and change lives in Montgomery County by reducing the incidence of these dreaded diseases. The 24th annual Memorial Hermann In the Pink of Health Luncheon will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott and feature guest speaker, former Olympic gymnast Shannon Miller.
