MR-focused ultrasound is an advanced technology using focused beams of acoustic energy to target precise areas of the brain without incisions or sedation. The state-of-the-art procedure uses magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and offers a shorter recovery time and immediate relief for patients navigating essential tremor or tremor-dominate Parkinson’s disease.

This innovative procedure is performed by Memorial Hermann Mischer Neuroscience Associates (MNA) affiliated neurological surgeon Dr. Sam Javedan. Affiliated neurologists Dr. Nadia Hammoud and Dr. Allison Boyle are also integral part of the movement disorder team at MNA in The Woodlands.

Memorial Hermann The Woodlands is incredibly grateful for its experienced neuroscience specialists and dedicated staff who collaborate daily to elevate health care and shape healthier lives.
