Montgomery County Food Bank Gala funds more than 2 Million Meals
On Saturday, February 8, the Montgomery County Food Bank hosted their 2025 Fighting Hunger, Feeding Hope Gala, titled A Ruby Celebration: 40 Years of Feeding Hope, at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott. Funds raised will provide more than 2 million meals for our neighbors in Montgomery County.
2025 marks the 40th anniversary of the Montgomery County Food Bank and commemorates the organization’s outstanding commitment to supporting those in need. Montgomery County Food Bank was established in 1985 by founding member Betty Hardy, whose act of kindness sparked a movement to unite the community to fight hunger. From the visionary beginnings of distributing food from the trunk of Mrs. Hardy’s car, Montgomery County Food Bank has grown to meet the needs of the community and now provides more than 9 million nutritious meals per year.
Huntsman Corporation served as the Presenting Sponsor of the event, Justin Kendrick, Senior Vice President and CEO of Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center and Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital, and a member of the Food Bank’s Board of Directors, served as the Honorary Chair of this year’s gala, and Angela Storseth-Cooper, Senior Director of Government Relations & Public Policy at The US Oncology Network and a member of the Food Bank’s Board of Directors, served as Gala Chair and led the Gala Committee.
