Montgomery County Judge Keough July 9 Update: Power Restoration, Cooling Centers and Shelters
Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough shared an update on Tuesday, July 9 at 10:15am on power restoration, cooling centers and shelters.
Notes from the update:
- 80% Montgomery County is still without power
- Sources at Entergy: “Their focus is transmission so they can get their systems up and get the distribution going. They are focusing on the highest concentration of population in order to reach the most amount of people in the shortest amount of time. They believe they will have about 50% of customers up by tomorrow evening, and that by the end of this week Montgomery County should be in pretty good shape overall as it relates to power.”

- Emergency Shelters currently open:
- Lone Star Community Center – 2500 Lone Star Pkwy, Montgomery 77356 (150 capacity)
- West County Community Development Center – 31355 Friendship Drive Magnolia 77355 (150 capacity)
- East Montgomery County Community Development Center – 16401 1st St. 77372 (150 capacity)
- Sts. Simon And Jude Catholic Church – 26777 Glen Loch Dr, The Woodlands, TX 77381
- Clearing Roads: “We are doing everything we can to accommodate this situation. Texas A&M Forest Service has sent saw teams to help our Commissioners in cutting wood and vegetation that has fallen onto the roads. We are getting those cleared out as fast as we can.”
