New Year’s DWI Enforcement begins December 31 through January 3

By  |

The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, in coordination with the Montgomery County DWI Task Force, comprised of local law enforcement agencies, will increase impaired-driving enforcement efforts during the New Year holiday period.

Enhanced enforcement will take place from Wednesday, December 31, 2025, through Saturday, January 3, 2026, with a focus on identifying and removing impaired drivers from Montgomery County roadways.

The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office will participate in a No Refusal initiative throughout the enforcement period, ensuring that search warrants for blood draws will be pursued when drivers suspected of driving while intoxicated refuse breath or blood testing.

“As we enter the New Year, these efforts are about saving lives, because driving while intoxicated is dangerous, preventable, and carries real and lasting consequences,” said Montgomery County District Attorney Mike Holley.

“During a time of increased travel and celebration, choosing to drive impaired endangers every other driver on the road, and our role is to ensure those decisions are met with accountability,” said Chief Prosecutor of Vehicular Crimes Taylor Vanegas.

Residents and visitors are urged to plan ahead when celebrating. Designate a sober driver, use a rideshare service, or arrange alternative transportation. Choosing to drive impaired puts lives at risk — including your own.

The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office and its law enforcement partners remain committed to public safety and to holding impaired drivers accountable.
