About B.I.G. Love Cancer Care
B.I.G. Love Cancer Care was established in February of 2007 in memory of Brooke A. Phillips with one primary focus—easing the childhood cancer journey. B.I.G. Love Cancer Care’s core mission is to meet the most basic and urgent physical, emotional, and financial needs of pediatric oncology and hematology patients and their families.
In 2007, the organization’s first program provided catered meals and gift baskets for families during each holiday at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston.B.I.G. Love Cancer Care’s programming expanded to Texas Children’s Hospital in Katy, TX in 2011, to Dell Children’s Medical Center of Austin in 2014 and to Texas Children’s Hospital in The Woodlands in 2016. On January 8, 2018,B.I.G. Love Cancer Care was asked by MD Anderson Children’s Cancer Hospital to join their pediatric oncology team. In 2020,B.I.G. Love Cancer Care extended to Methodist Children’s Hospital in San Antonio, TX. Today, the organization reaches more than 100,000 patients and their families annually, offering 20 programs at SIX Texas hospitals, 52 weeks a year.

Volunteer
If you are looking for a meaningful and life-changing volunteer experience, joinB.I.G. Love Cancer Care (BLCC) as they serve thousands of cancer kids each year. For children diagnosed with cancer, BLCC means an opportunity to request special wish or comfort items each week, to receive a toy at clinic during traumatic moments, enjoy a catered meal every Sunday, and much more. The purpose of BLCC is to ease the childhood cancer journey…to make them smile…to bring them hope!
The children and teens served by B.I.G. Love Cancer Care include all inpatient kids and their families admitted on the hematology/oncology unit at Texas Children’s Hospital (Houston), The University of Texas MD Anderson Children’s Cancer Hospital (Houston), Dell Children’s Medical Center (Austin), Methodist Children’s Hospital (San Antonio).
As one cancer kid said, “Please don’t ever stop doing what you are doing for kids like us…we need you.”
