Office Building Homicide in The Woodlands

By  |

UPDATE 3/9 12:38pm: The victim at the business was 54 year old Brent Brock who was an employee in the building, and the suspect is 63 year old John Williams. Initial investigation suggests this shooting stemmed from a personal matter. At this Detectives believe Williams is the subject who was found in the fatal car crash just 1/2 mile from the shooting scene.

Original March, 9, 2019: On Friday March 8, 2019, at about 4:00 pm, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to a report of “Shots Fired” at an office building in the 2100 block of Buckthorne Place, The Woodlands, Texas. Responding Deputies were notified that the alleged shooter had shot one victim and fled the scene southbound on Grogan’s Mill Road.

Upon searching and securing the building, Deputies found one victim with gunshot wounds, that victim succumbed to the injuries sustained at the scene. A second victim was transported with blunt force injuries which have been reported as non-life threatening at this time.

There is a secondary location which appears related to the Shots Fired Call. It is an accident scene less than 1/2 mile from the shooting scene. At this point, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Homicide/Violent Crimes and Texas Rangers are actively investigating whether there is a connection between the two scenes as initial reports suggest the deceased individual in the vehicle crash is the suspect. This is still a very active investigative scene, and there is no immediate threat to the community of The Woodlands in relation to this call.

The victim at business was 54 year old Brent Brock, who was an employee in the building, and the suspect is 63 year old John Williams. Initial investigation suggests this shooting stemmed from a personal matter and the public is not in danger.
