Over 30 Texas Artists featured in “Abstraction” Art Show until August 26

On Saturday, July 15, Ardest Gallery hosted the Opening Reception of the “Abstraction” Art Show that features 2D and 3D abstract works by over 30 Texas artists selected by Juror Annette Palmer.

Annette Palmer is an award winning, internationally collected artist and experienced Juror. Palmer is currently a resident artist of Archway Gallery in Houston and widely published freelance art writer. Her own work explores distance, connectivity and forgotten means of communication, often within land and seascapes. Palmer is a graduate of the Edinburgh College of Art / Heriot Watt University, Scotland, UK.

Denise Elliott Jones was announced as the 1st place winner of the show for her work “Continual Interaction,” 48×36 on canvas. Jones is an abstract artists living in Austin. Texas. She works with a visual vocabulary of shapes that tell a universal story. Painting, printmaking and mixed media are her primary creative processes. When creating, she avoids predetermined outcomes, and allows her processes to dictate the outcome.

Ardest Gallery, a local fine arts gallery curated by Gallery Director Julie Verville, represents nearly 40, top Texas 2D and 3D visual artists. In addition to its core artists, the gallery will host ongoing events such as monthly group art shows, Coffee Talk with an Artist, Art to Lunch in partnership with local restaurants, poetry readings, musical performances, and art classes/workshops for all ages and skill levels.
