Pet of the Month: Jolene
Hello Woodlands, in partnership with Operation Pets Alive (OPA), highlights a “Pet of the Month” that features a local dog or cat available for foster and/or adoption in Montgomery County, Texas. Operation Pets Alive is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization striving to elevate Montgomery County to a No-Kill community through innovative programs that raise community awareness, reduce the number of dogs and cats that enter our shelters, and increase the number of dogs and cats that leave our shelters alive.
For our Pet of the Month, we are excited to introduce you to Jolene!
JOLENE’S STORY
Jolene is a sweet and curious, 55-pound Doberman Pinscher mix. This young lady found herself at the shelter in May 2023, and then was lucky enough to be pulled into the Operation Pets Alive foster program in July.
Since then, her fosters have discovered Jolene embodies everything you would think about your average Dobie! She is energetic, eager to please, always curious, and loves new adventures. Jolene loves to play with toys, her favorite being her yellow squeaker pig, and can often be seen relaxing on the couch with one after a long play session. Jolene is VERY friendly with dogs of all sizes and loves to meet new friends. She’s lucky enough to be able to attend doggy daycare at her foster’s work sometimes!
Jolene likes cats and does well around them, but also has a high prey drive and likes to give chase if they decide to run. She is currently working on impulse control and obedience training and will need an experienced and patient adopter. She can be stubbornly independent at times but is always in tune to what her humans want. Jolene is potty trained, crate trained, fully vetted, great with kids, and would be the perfect addition to an active family! If you are interested in meeting or adopting Jolene, submit an application on Operation Pets Alive’s website (no obligation to adopt) with her name and ID D230528: https://operationpetsalive.org/programs/adopt/
