Run or walk in the Cleft Smiles 5k at Rob Fleming Park March 23

Over five hundred runners and walkers are expected to join together at Rob Fleming Park in The Woodlands, TX on Saturday, March 23 for the Cleft Smiles 5k Family Fun Run/Walk to raise money to provide medical care to children born with cleft lip or palate who have limited financial resources.

Presented by Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, the Cleft Smiles 5k Family Fun Run/Walk will be a fun-filled, rain or shine event featuring a timed, scenic 3.1 mile walk or run at 8:30am. There is also a virtual 5K option for those who cannot make the live event.

Entry fees are $40 for adults and $25 for children; t-shirts are included in the registration fee.

There will be plenty to do after the race! Plan to stay for a bit to visit with our vendors, play lawn games, listen to music, jump in our bounce house, and play a friendly game of soccer. We will also have a photo booth, and sweet treats! Topper the giraffe, the mascot of our presenting sponsor, Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, will also be in attendance! He will be there to cheer you on and he would love to take a picture with you after the race!

One in every 700 babies is born with a cleft lip or palate. These children experience many challenges throughout their childhood, including feeding and speech issues, bullying, multiple surgeries, and the need for costly dental work and orthodontia. Many families in the Houston area do not have the financial resources to handle these challenges. The Cleft Smiles 5k Family Fun Run/Walk was founded to bring support to these families.
