Greater Conroe Arts Festival featured Local Artists, Art Activities and Film Festival in Downtown Conroe

The Greater Conroe Arts Festival took place on Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Downtown Conroe at Founders Plaza. Hosted by the Greater Conroe Arts Alliance, this free event featured a wide variety of art activities for all ages, shopping with fine art vendors, a film festival, live music, and food trucks.

Activities at the annual festival included mural painting, pottery making, live painters and plein air painting, theatre performances, film festival, chalk artists, living statues, quilt walk, lego building, a Kids Art Village, music petting zoo, prop petting zoo, facepainting, dance along, costume character photo ops, photo contest, art bench walking tour, and more. 

On stage at Founders Plaza attendees could watch, sit, and enjoy live performances and music by the Conroe Symphony Winds, Jazz Connection, Woodlands Show Chorus, Montgomery County Choral Society, Grace Pointe Dance, Judi Lanza & Friends, and The Players Theatre Company and Stage Right Theatre Company. 

New at this year’s Festival was the Film Festival at the Crighton Theatre from 10am-10pm that featured locally made films by local directors, producers, and actors. There were several premier films shown, including The Invictus Chronicles, directed by Lynn Peverill and Marty Craig.

The Conroe Art League International Show was also on display at the Conroe Art League Gallery and Texas State Poet Laureate Winner Hallie Moore performed a poetry reading at 2pm. 

Participants also had the opportunity to bid on works of art painted during the Festival, at a 3pm auction, as well as purchase $20 raffle tickets online or in person for over $4000 in prizes. Professional and hobby photographers also could enter photographs from the event into the photo contest for their chance at $350 in prizes. 

Greater Conroe Arts Alliance is made up of twenty one arts organizations in Montgomery County, Texas representing performance, visual, literary & cultural arts.
