Sheriff’s Office arrests Home Healthcare provider for Injury to a Disabled Person in The Woodlands

On May 28, 2024, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office District 6 units responded to an Injury to a Disabled Person call on Hopvine Court, The Woodlands. Upon arrival, Deputies spoke to the mother of the victim, who stated that her son’s Home Healthcare provider caused physical injury to her son. 

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Detectives arrived on scene and conducted an investigation, which confirmed that the suspect had assaulted the victim days prior. A warrant was then issued for the arrest of the suspect, identified as 51-year-old Ruben Cano from Conroe, Texas. Later that day Ruben was located at his residence and placed in custody for Injury to a Disabled Person, a third degree felony. 

Detectives are asking for any former patients of Ruben Cano who may have experienced physical injury while under his care to contact the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office at 936-760-5800 option 3 and refer to case #24A149685.
