Summer fun continues at the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts
Don’t miss the final weeks of summer at the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts! The Pearl’s summer exhibitions continue through August 30 with two family-friendly experiences as well as a large Maker Space.
A special LEGO® brick-building pop-up event will take place on August 2 with members of the Houston Brick Club, as well as a Family Day celebration on August 23 to wrap up the Pearl’s summer exhibition.

In the Main Gallery this summer, the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts is thrilled to present “Art Unleashed: Creativity You Can FEEL!” This family-friendly, touchable art exhibition for all abilities has been curated by staff of the Pearl and includes pieces created especially for this exhibition, as well as art on loan from artists across the nation.
The exhibition includes iconic masterpieces as bronze reliefs, created by Dallas-based artist Tomas Bustos; the “Holdables” collection of soft sculptures by Stephanie Metz of California; “In a Dish,” by Sam Lao of Dallas; fun textured paintings by Baltimore artist Rosy Sunshine Galvan; and bronze sculptures from Found Fine Art in Bastrop, Texas.

The summer exhibition also includes a large Maker Space, where guests of all ages and abilities can create their own art from sensory materials like buttons, pipe cleaners, pom-poms and more. A LEGO station, light boxes, giant Connect Four and other activities add to the family fun. The Maker Space is generously sponsored by AAUW North Harris County Branch.
“Art Unleashed” runs through August 30, 2025. Museum hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and admission is free. Donations and membership support are appreciated and help continue the Pearl’s mission of art, education, and community.

Cole Gallery: The Realm of Smaller Things
In the Cole Gallery this summer, the Pearl is delighted to feature “The Realm of Smaller Things: A Storybook Adventure by Kent Knowles.” Based on his book by the same name, figurative artist and author Kent Knowles has transformed the gallery into a magical space where visitors can imagine themselves in a BIG forest with a TINY friend.
“The Realm of Smaller Things” continues through August 30, 2025. Museum hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and admission is free.
