Thanksgiving holiday activities and closures for the Township

The Woodlands Township reminds residents of the following openings and closures as it relates to the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Woodlands Township Town Hall at 2801 Technology Forest Blvd., The Woodlands, Texas 77381, will be closed Thursday, November 25, and Friday, November 26, 2020, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Curbside service of recycling and trash pickup will not be operating on Thanksgiving Day, and service for those scheduled for pickup that day will resume on Friday. Those scheduled for Friday pickup will have service resume on Saturday. 

The Town Center Trolleys and The Woodlands Express Park and Ride buses will not be in service on Thanksgiving Day.

Thanksgiving week in The Woodlands also has plenty to offer for all to enjoy:

  • The Ice Rink is open every day, including Thanksgiving Day. Thanksgiving Day hours are 1 to 9 p.m. The complete schedule is available on online at www.thewoodlandsicerink.com.
    Please note: Advance booking online is highly encouraged to ensure capacity is not already met for your desired skate time. 
  • Riva Row Boat House and Lakes Edge Boat House will both be open from 9 a.m. to sunset all week, with the exception of Thanksgiving Day. The cool fall climate makes it an ideal time to get out and enjoy The Woodlands in a kayak or on a paddleboard, water bike or swan boat.   • Texas TreeVentures will be open every day this week, with the exception of Thanksgiving Day. Hours and availability for this challenge-by-choice aerial adventure course can be found online at www.texastreeventures.com.
  • COVID Testing by Curative, Inc. will be offered in the Township Town Hall parking lot at 2801 Technology Forest Blvd. every day this week, except for Thanksgiving Day. Testing will be available on Thanksgiving Eve from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. All other days, testing is available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Woodlands Township also reminds residents to stay safe and healthy by observing the best practices recommended by the Center of Disease Control and Prevention of maintaining a social distance of 6 feet from others, wearing a face covering, washing hands frequently and limiting interactions indoors to immediate household members.
