Thanksgiving Holiday Schedule for The Woodlands Township Services
THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS – The Woodlands Township provides a range of Thanksgiving holiday activities for residents to enjoy. Additionally, the Township would like to remind residents of the closures and service schedules in effect for the holiday.
“The Woodlands Township family wishes your family a joyful Thanksgiving,” said Chairman Dr. Ann K. Snyder. “We’re committed to creating an environment where our employees can enjoy the warmth of home during the holiday; it is part of our commitment to our community and staff.”
The Woodlands Township reminds residents of the following closures related to Thanksgiving:
- The Woodlands Township offices, The Recreation Center at Bear Branch and The Recreation Center at Rob Fleming Park will be closed Thursday, November 23, and Friday, November 24, 2023, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
- No curbside service of recycling and trash pickup on Thanksgiving Day. Trash and recycling services will resume on Friday, November 24. Households with regular Thursday or Friday service will receive service the following day, including Saturday. These schedule changes impact all collections – trash, recycling, yard trimmings, and bulk pickup. - The Town Center Trolleys and The Woodlands Express Park and Ride buses will not be in service on Thanksgiving Day. The Woodlands Express Park and Ride buses also will not run on Friday, November 24. www.thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov/transportation.
The Woodlands Township offers residents and visitors a variety of activities to enjoy during the Thanksgiving Holiday:
- The Ice Rink is open every day, including Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving Day first Session begins at 4 p.m. and the last Session begins at 6:30 p.m. The complete schedule is available on online at www.thewoodlandsicerink.com. Please note: Advance booking online is highly encouraged to ensure capacity is not already met for your desired skate time.
- Texas TreeVentures and Riva Row Boat House are expanding hours and reservation availability at both facilities for this holiday week. Texas TreeVentures has timeslots available for reservation every day from Friday, November 17 through Sunday, November 26, except for Thanksgiving Day. Reservations are recommended to be made a week in advance and can be rescheduled up until 48 hours prior. - Riva Row Boat House will be open regular hours, 9 a.m. to sunset, all of Thanksgiving break, except for Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 23, 2023. Lakes Edge Boat House will be open its normal operations hours. Boat reservations are highly recommended due to the Holiday season, especially with schools being out and holiday travelers. So be sure to get your boats reserved for some holiday family fun! Reservations for either boat house location can be made at www.rivarowboathouse.com.
- Don’t miss out on Sunny Dayz Thanksgiving Break Camp starting on November 20, 2023. Campers will enjoy holiday-themed games, crafts, gaga ball, gym games, arts & crafts, nature hikes, and park visits. The camp costs $60 per day, with a $5 daily discount for each additional day of the week. Thanksgiving break camp is held at The Rob Fleming Recreation Center, 6464 Creekside Forest Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77389.
