The Pavilion celebrates 35th anniversary of Batman (1989) with Houston Symphony Concert
Batman fans experienced the caped crusader like never before at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion’s Batman 1989 in Concert featuring the Houston Symphony on Friday, July 26. The audience watched Batman unravel the mysteries of Gotham City as the Houston Symphony Orchestra performed the movie’s Grammy-nominated original score by Danny Elfman live on the Main Stage.

TCG Entertainment, a leader in live entertainment and touring productions, in conjunction with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment and DC, brought Warner Bros. Pictures’ 1989 blockbuster film Batman to The Pavilion as part of its DC in Concert series. Released June 23, 1989, Warner Bros. Pictures’ DC Superhero film Batman was the top grossing film that year and has remained a fan-favorite for more than three decades. The film was composer Danny Elfman’s first collaboration with director Tim Burton and the score was later nominated for a Grammy award. The “Batman Theme” has become an iconic piece, evoking the Caped Crusader for many generations.
Guests were encouraged to dress up as their favorite DC Superhero and had the opportunity to attend pre-show activities including photo opportunities, an arts & crafts booth, themed games, the instrument petting zoo and sponsor activations before the free show.
