The Woodlands Arts Council announces ‘Winter in The Woodlands’ Photography Contest Winners
On November 6, friends and families gathered at The Woodlands Arts Council’s (TWAC) opening reception of the “Winter in The Woodlands” Exhibition with an enthusiastic crowd of finalists’ supporters. Guests admired the breathtaking photographs and embraced the festive spirit of the season.
The highlight of the evening came when professional photographer and Montgomery resident, Patti Gary, announced the winners in each category. As the contest’s judge, Gary explained her judging criteria and shared how photography blends emotion, creativity, and craftsmanship, turning the moment into a meaningful learning experience for all.

- Professional Photographer: Dennis Chernov, “Snow Day on The Waterway”
- Adult Amateur Photographer: Vance Schwantes, “Christmas Dreaming”
- College & High School Student: Emery Oliphant, “Visitor”
- Youth Student: Remington White, “Hello Trolley”
Prizes:
- Professional Photography $400 Gift Card
- Adult Amateur Photography $300 Gift Card
- College & High School Student $250 Gift Card
- Youth Student $50 Gift Card
The Woodlands Arts Council invites the community to visit the Winter in The Woodlands Exhibition and celebrate the creativity and talent of local photographers capturing the spirit of the season.
Visitors are also encouraged to help select the People’s Choice Award winner! Every visitor will have the opportunity to cast their vote for their favorite photograph. The People’s Choice Award will be announced after the exhibition closes on February 5th.
