The event, chaired by Will and Nicole Murphy, kicked off at 6 p.m. with a cocktail reception, followed by dinner and entertainment featuring a chef’s table experience, musical performance by Divisi and actors from the Players Theatre Company, live auction, and Hometown Hero Reception.

This year’s Celebration of Excellence Gala honored the newest class of Hometown Heroes: Shirelle Chimenti, Sheriff Rand Henderson, Danny and Angie Signorelli, Theresa Wagaman, and Ann Wolford, Conroe Independent School District, and Cypress Woodlands Junior Forum. The Honorable Kevin Brady, who served as a U.S. Representative for Texas’s 8th Congressional District from 1997 to 2023, was also honored for his incredible service with The Mitchell Award. The event launched a year of celebration as Interfaith looks to October 5, 2023, the official 50th Anniversary of Interfaith of The Woodlands. Interfaith plans to conclude the anniversary festivities in Spring of 2024 with a 50th Anniversary Celebration of Excellence Gala.

“As Interfaith prepares to celebrate 50 years of service to our neighbors, it is inspirational to be a witness to the steadfast dedication and love from the incredible people in our community,” said Missy Herndon, President & CEO Interfaith of The Woodlands, “Since our organization’s inception, our beautiful community has never faltered in their commitment to helping neighbors who are experiencing a crisis. We are grateful for or visionaries, Mr. George P. Mitchell and Rev. Don Gebert, who created an organization with a mission to bring people together and serve our neighbors in need.”

With over 750 guests in attendance, the Gala, presented by Huntsman Corporation, raised nearly $600,000 to support Interfaith of The Woodlands to benefit those in South Montgomery County facing a personal crisis by providing food items, clothing vouchers, rent/mortgage, utility assistance and through programming for our Senior neighbors. Learn more about Interfaith of The Woodlands at woodlandsinterfaith.org.
