The Woodlands Christian Academy breaks ground for Fine Arts Building

The Woodlands Christian Academy held a groundbreaking ceremony this morning, Tuesday, May 30, 2023, to mark the beginning of the construction of a new $10.8 million Fine Arts Educational Building and outdoor amphitheater.

The 22,585 square foot, one-story Fine Arts Education Building in the latest addition to the school’s 40-acre campus.  The facility will accommodate fine arts specialties including theatre, band, choir, dance and the visual arts.  Features include the largest black box theatre in the Houston area with the ability to seat up to 400 in a variety of configurations, an art studio, a dance studio, a choir hall, a band hall, and multiple spaces for displaying student artworks.  The Fine Arts Education Building is scheduled to be completed by the fall of 2024.

“I am so grateful for the generous support of our families and friends.  The addition of this learning space will further enable our students to grow as leaders for Christ and to flourish – spiritually, intellectually, creatively, physically and socially,” said Julie Ambler, Head of School.

Phil Sweger, Director of Fine Arts stated, “I want to extend my thanks to everyone who made this day possible. This building will provide a dedicated space in which our students can create and perform for many years to come.”
