The Woodlands Diversion announces 2026-27 Season, Opening September 25 with Trio Duende
The Woodlands Diversion (TWD) has announced its 2026–27 season, featuring five distinctive programs that bring together classical music with jazz, Latin American traditions, Motown, theater and more.

The season opens Friday, September 25, at 7 p.m. with American Ecstasies, featuring Trio Duende at The Woodlands Community Presbyterian Church. The performance sets the tone for a season designed to showcase both the range of classical music and the connections it shares with musical and cultural traditions from around the world.
Featuring flutist Tyler Martin, cellist Caio Diniz and pianist James Palmer, American Ecstasies explores the intersection of jazz, Latin dance, European modernism and the American classical tradition. Works by Kevin Day, Jennifer Higdon, Ned Rorem and Nikolai Kapustin move from lyrical and introspective to colorful, rhythmic and exhilarating.
“We’re thrilled to share a season that reflects what The Woodlands Diversion is all about, bringing people together through great music while creating experiences that feel fresh, engaging and a little unexpected, ” said Matthew Everett, Artistic Director. “This season gives audiences the opportunity to experience an incredible range of music and artists, and we’re especially excited about the diversity of performances we’re bringing to our community.”
The September opening is the first of five programs running through May 2027. The season will explore connections across cultures, musical genres and generations while continuing TWD’s mission of making high-quality performing arts accessible to The Woodlands and surrounding communities.
