The Woodlands Diversion’s ‘Letters to Mom’ Concert celebrates the Unbreakable Bond of Motherhood

By  |

The Woodlands Diversion is thrilled to announce, “Letters to Mom,” an evening dedicated to honoring and celebrating all types of moms and the incredible experiences that come with motherhood. This enchanting event will take place on Saturday, May 11, at 7 p.m. at Lone Star College–Montgomery in The Woodlands. Just in time for Mother’s Day, “Letters to Mom” will showcase the unbreakable bond between mothers and their children through heartfelt performances and soul-stirring music. Guests can expect an evening filled with captivating melodies, powerful words, and a celebration of the joys, challenges, and unconditional love that define the journey of motherhood.

“We believe that mothers deserve to be celebrated every day, and ‘Letters to Mom’ is our way of paying tribute to the incredible women who have shaped our lives,” said Matthew Everett, president and founder of The Woodlands Diversion. “This concert is a unique opportunity for individuals to express their appreciation for their mothers, grandmothers, and all mother figures in their lives.”

The concert will feature talented local artists on strings, piano, and percussion. In celebrating “moms,” the program is composed entirely of works written by female composers, including Germaine Tailleferre (1892-1983), Minako Tokuyama (born 1958), Rachel Portman (born 1960), Jessie Montgomery (born 1981), and Caroline Shaw (born 1982).

“We are honored to perform these beautiful works written by amazing women,” Everett added. “Throughout history female composers have faced numerous challenges and barriers that have hindered their recognition within the music world. What better way to pay tributes to motherhood than to honor the gifts of their daughters!”

This program marks just the second performance by The Woodlands Diversion, a community-driven organization dedicated to creating memorable experiences and events that bring joy, entertainment, and togetherness to The Woodlands. Tickets for “Letters to Mom” are available for purchase at www.thewoodlandsdiversion.org. Limited seating is available, so early booking is recommended.
