The Woodlands Fire Department responds to restaurant kitchen fire
At 11:18am on Thursday, September 18 The Woodlands Fire Department was dispatched to the Fielding’s Wood Grill restaurant, 1699 Research Forest, for a reported kitchen fire.
Engine 101 was first on scene and reported heavy smoke coming from the roof and people evacuating the strip center. Firefighters made entry and located a fire inside the cooking ventilation system. Crews worked from the inside and the roof to open up the ventilation system and extinguish the fire. Fire damage was limited to the ventilation system and roof. Other businesses in the strip center had minimal impact with some light smoke damage and minimal water damage in one suite.
Affected businesses that have since reopened are Plains Capital Bank and Capital Title. The Houston Eye Associates will be closed today.
Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating. The Woodlands Fire Department was assisted by Needham Fire & Rescue/ Montgomery County ESD#4 Montgomery County Hospital District and Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office
