Today – March 17 – Rodeo Shuttle Service – Catch a ride to Rodeo! The Woodlands Express offers easy, affordable transportation to get to and from The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. The Woodlands Express, the Township’s Park and Ride transportation service, carries riders from Sawdust Park and Ride to NRG Stadium every Thursday through Sunday of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, giving passengers a way to enjoy the entertainment without the hassle of downtown traffic and parking. March 8, 12 & 14Texas Bubblers kicks off the festivities by waving their wands to create bubbles as large as 10 feet wide during complimentary demonstrations at City Place on March 8 from 5-7 pm, March 12 from 3-5 pm and March 14 from 11 am to 1 pm. March 8 & 15 Trinity Episcopal Lent Fish Fridays – The Brotherhood of St. Andrew hosts a fish dinner each Friday during Lent at Trinity Episcopal Church here in The Woodlands. The menu is fried or baked fish, french fries, hush puppies, fried pickles, cole slaw, potato salad, and desserts and costs only $12. Dinners in person will be on February 16th – March 27th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Butler Hall. Payment is via cash, credit card, debit card, or payment apps. March 8-21“Threads of Time: Sewn Through Generations” Free Exhibit – Curated by City Place resident Denise Zimmermann, PhD, “Threads of Time: Sewn Through Generations” will debut on March 8 in celebration of International Women’s Day. Though the lens of fashion, the unique exhibit spotlights the perspective of five women representing five generations – The Silent Generation, The Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z. Each participant was given the same dress to reinterpret based on her perspective of the corresponding generation. To accompany the fascinating results, an accompanying commentary will describe the strengths, struggles, celebrations and restrictions each felt their generations were confronted with and were able to overcome. The free exhibit will be on display in the lobby of 1700 City Plaza Drive (behind Common Bond) through March 21 – Monday through Friday from 8 am-5 pm. Learn More

March 9 – 17th Annual Creekwood Fishing Derby – Bring your fishing poles and The Woodlands Township will provide the bait! T-Shirts are given on first come, first served basis. March 9Volunteer Day at Rob Fleming Recreation Center – Join The Woodlands Township 9:00- 11:30am at the Recreation Center at Rob Fleming Park to collect litter and conduct an audit for the Keep Texas Beautiful Texas Litter Database. March 9“Periwinkle” Art Installation – Get into the spirit of the season on March 9 from 10 am until noon as City Place unveils Periwinkle – the first of a new series of Instaworthy pop up art installations – with a ribbon cutting and complimentary celebration featuring streamer and dream catcher stations, music and dancing. Free of charge and on display through July, the immersive and expansive piece from Dallas-based creators The Color Condition blends vibrant colors, patterns and movement to create fantastical realms reminiscent of Candyland, Peter Pan, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. March 10 – AndyRooniverse – From 1-2 pm at City Place, little ones can join AndyRoo on a complimentary musical journey to the AndyRooniverse — a magical town created by the ever-expanding landscape of children’s imaginations and filled with a myriad of animated characters. Mr. Leo’s Puppet Show will also take center stage March 10 and 11 with shows at 4 pm and 5 pm each day, and March 15 with shows at 11 am and noon. Learn More

March 10 & 17 Tippi Toes – Children ages 3-7 years old can get their groove on at City Place with Tippi Toes March 10 and March 17 from 2:30-3:30 pm during complimentary sessions that teach movement, balance and other fundamentals of dance. March 10St. Baldrick’s at the Goose – Be a hero for kids with cancer! Shave your head, volunteer, or donate – give hope! The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-powered charity that raises funds for childhood cancer research. The event will be held on Saturday, March 10 at 3 to 7pm at Goose’s Acre Irish Pub on the Waterway. Learn More

March 10Concert in the Park – Concert in the Park is a popular family tradition of music and fun for all ages! Concert in the Park features local bands playing a variety of favorites from pop and rock to country during the spring and fall. Coolers, picnic baskets, blankets, and lawn chairs are permitted. March 14Guided Adventure Hike – Go on a 2+ mile guided hike through the roughest trails the Spring Creek Greenway’s preserves have to offer on Thursday, March 14 starting at 9:30am. Recommended age 10+. Learn More

March 15Deacon Baldy’s Book Fair – Deacon Baldy’s is desperately trying to capture the enthusiasm of their youth by recreating the classic Book Fair on Friday, March 15 from 5:30 to 8:30pm. They’ll have Village Books, Volume Music, The Candy House, and Second Round Glass coming out with some of their finest. Ask your parents for $20 and head over.   • March 12 Juicebox Jukebox enriches children’s lives through fun, positive, and educational music that focuses on core subjects and character-building themes with a fresh perspective.   • March 13 Lucas Miller, the Singing Zoologist, builds children’s scientific confidence and curiosity with his STEM-tastic, multimedia presentations, featuring dazzling visuals, smart songwriting, laugh-out-loud comedy, and accurate science. Enjoy presentations at 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm, and 1:30pm.  BEE amazed by a visit from The Bee Lady at 11:00am and discover facts about bees.
  • March 14 Le Theatre de Marionette presents two musical variety shows featuring several entertaining and unique marionettes at 11:00am and 1:00pm
  • March 15 SaulPaul Productions Children’s musician performances at 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm, and 1:30pm. GRAMMY Award-nominated artist SaulPaul has garnered an international reputation as a musician with a message. Sunday, March 17

March 17 – Fly Casting: Group Lessons – This class will cover basic casting fundamentals and provide a groundwork for understanding fly rods & reels, basic types and other components of fly fishing. You will need comfortable, seasonable clothing, sun glass, sunscreen and be prepared to have some fun! Ages 14+. The class will take place at Rob Fleming Park – Fountain Pond at 1:00-4:00pm. Learn More

March 17 – Concert in the Park St. Patrick’s Day Celebration – Come celebrate everyone’s favorite Celtic holiday at Concert in the Park with The Tracy Perez Band.
