Township Arts in the Park features two special events in September
THE WOODLANDS, TX – This year’s Arts in the Park program will feature two events this fall, with The Woodlands Renaissance Faire on Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Shakespeare in the Park on Saturday, September 30, 2023, from 6 to 8 p.m. Both events will be held at Rob Fleming Park, located at 6055 Creekside Forest Drive in The Woodlands, TX 77389.
The Saturday, September 23 event will stroll back to Renaissance times at The Woodlands Renaissance Faire, featuring live musical and theater performances by local artists and The Woodlands Symphony Orchestra players. Other activities include children’s arts and crafts, face painting, local vendors, strolling entertainment, live medieval demonstrations, Renaissance-themed youth and adult costume contests and much more.
The Saturday, September 30 event will be a live Shakespeare theater performance of Taming of the Shrew, William Shakespeare’s masterpiece performed by Points North Theatre Company. The performance adds a unique twist by being set in the colorful, big-haired, parachute-panted, music-driven world of the 1980s.
Residents of The Woodlands are invited to enjoy these two events with family and friends by bringing lawn chairs, grabbing a bite to eat at the food trucks and enjoying free live performances that are open to audiences of all ages. Both events are produced by The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department, sponsored by The Howard Hughes Corporation®, and H-E-B.
Concessions will be available for purchase onsite. Coolers, picnic baskets, blankets and lawn chairs are permitted. Glass is prohibited.
