Township monitoring Tropical Moisture and Potential Weather Impacts

The Woodlands Township is monitoring weather conditions associated with tropical moisture moving inland from the Gulf. Forecasters are watching the potential for tropical development and periods of heavy rainfall across Southeast Texas.

Residents are encouraged to:

• Monitor local weather forecasts and official updates from the National Weather Service at weather.gov/hgx.
• Avoid unnecessary travel during periods of heavy rainfall.
• Never drive through flooded roadways. Turn Around, Don’t Drown.
• Secure trash and recycling containers after collection to help prevent them from becoming hazards during high winds and heavy rain.
• Report power outages directly to your electric provider and monitor outage information at centerpointenergy.com/outage or entergy.com/outages.
• Stay informed about any impacts to Township facilities, programs and services at thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov/alerts.

At this time, the following Township facilities and services have been impacted by severe weather moving through our area:

• Town Center Trolley service has been suspended and will remain suspended until the Flash Flood Warning has been lifted.
• Riva Row Boat House, Lakes Edge Boat House and Swans at The Mall are closed for the remainder of the day.
• Texas TreeVentures is closed for the remainder of the day.
• Natural grass athletic fields are closed through Thursday, June 18. Field conditions will be assessed on Friday, June 19, to determine whether fields can reopen for weekend activities.
